Thor Quantum Controls: Slide-Out, Generator & Panel
Learn to use the Quantum LC28’s control screen: slide-out operation, tank monitoring, water pump, water heater, and the automatic generator start.
Thor Quantum Control Screen
Every control for the Thor Quantum is on the large screen in the middle of the dashboard:
Slide-out to expand the living area.
Tank heaters for the black and gray tanks, used in below-freezing temperatures.
Water pump for using the fresh tank instead of city water.
Water heater with propane or electric options. The Thor Quantum has a tankless instant hot water heater.
Tank level indicators for fresh, black, and gray. Green is empty, red is full.
Operating the Slide-Out
Before extending or retracting the slide-out, the engine needs to be running, the parking brake engaged, and the area outside the RV clear of obstructions.
Operate the slide in one fluid motion without stopping and starting to keep the motors in sync.
To extend or retract the slide-out (Do this in one fluid motion without stopping and starting):
Press and hold "Slide 1 Extend" until the slide-out is fully extended.
To retract, press and hold "Slide 1 Retract."
Automatic Generator Start (AGS)
The Quantum has a gas generator with a 76-hour runtime on a full tank. Run it manually from the AGS screen, or set it to start automatically based on battery level, run time, start temperature, or quiet hours.
Before starting, please be mindful of your campsite’s quiet hours.
Start the generator: On the AGS screen, tap the Start button, then let it run for 3–5 minutes before using the AC or plugging items into the outlets.
Stop the generator: On the AGS screen, tap Stop/Prime.
When the generator is off and you’re not connected to shore power, the TV, AC, and outlets won't function.
Troubleshooting the Quantum
Slide-out won’t extend or retract? Confirm the engine is on and the parking brake is engaged.
No water at the sink, shower, or toilet? If you’re using the fresh tank, the water pump needs to be on. On city water, leave it off.
Generator won’t carry a load? Let it warm up for a few minutes after starting before turning on appliances.
