Winnebago View 24D Controls: Power, Awning & Steps

Learn how to use the entry-area controls on the Winnebago View 24D, including the coach battery, automatic steps, awning, and climate settings.

View 24D Entry Panel Location

Open the main RV entrance door and look at the bottom left of the cabinet. You’ll find a panel with the controls described below.

Leave the coach battery button on at all times. This allows your batteries to charge from solar, the alternator, the generator, and shore power.

The step button controls whether the entry steps extend as you open/close the door:

On position: Steps extend when you open the door and retract when you close it
Off position: Steps stay retracted

The awning controls are also on this panel. Before using the awning:

To extend the awning:

Always retract your awning any time you leave your vehicle or if the wind picks up.

Both the View 24D and J models have a thermostat for AC and heat.

Air conditioning: Requires the generator running or shore power.
Heat: You have two options:
- Propane heat works off your batteries alone and is the most efficient heat source in this vehicle
- Electric heat requires the generator or shore power

Check that the coach battery switch is on
Make sure the engine is off and the emergency brake is set for awning use
Confirm you have generator power or shore power when running AC or electric heat
