Nexus Triumph 29T Controls: Slide-Out, Control Panel & Beds

The 29T’s slide-out extends only with the engine off and the keys out of the ignition, unlike many other RVs. Here is how to run the slide-out, read the control panel, and convert all four sleeping areas.

Control Panel Operation

Located above the kitchen sink, the main control panel acts as a hub for your RV:

  • System Controls: You can manage the slide-out, interior lighting (living room and kitchen), the water pump, and the generator (start/stop).

  • Monitoring Levels: Use the panel to check the status of your battery, propane (LPG), and freshwater, gray, and black tank levels.

How to Extend the Nexus 29T Slide-Out

The 29T travels in a condensed position, and the living room slide-out has to come out before the sleeping areas can be set up:

  1. Turn the engine off and remove the keys from the ignition. The slide-out will not extend with the engine running.

  2. Check the driver’s side for adequate clearance. The slide needs a clear span along that entire wall. Make sure there aren’t things like cars, fences, picnic tables, or trees in the way.

  3. Press and hold the out button on the control panel in one continuous motion until the slide is fully extended. Stopping and restarting can throw the motors out of sync.

Setting Up Sleeping Areas

The Nexus 29T has four distinct sleeping areas to accommodate large groups.

  • Over-Cab Bed: Pull the extension piece down and slide it into place. A ladder is stored behind the dinette; it rests on a reinforced section of the mattress for safe access.

  • Dinette Conversion: Lift the velcroed seat cushions, collapse the table leg, and lower the tabletop until it is flush with the bench seats. Arrange the cushions over the top.

  • Sofa Bed: The couch rolls out to meet the dinette area. Lift the bottom edge until it rolls, then push to fully extend. To return it to a sofa, pull up on the front edge until the frame forms a "V" shape, then push back until it locks.

  • Master Suite: In the rear of the RV, this area features a large mattress (close to a King). With the slide-out fully extended, flip the mattress over to lie flat. It folds over for travel so the slide can retract.

Troubleshooting the 29T

Slide-out won’t extend? The engine has to be off with the keys out of the ignition.

Slide-out stopped partway? Check the driver’s side for obstructions, then press and hold the button in one continuous motion. Releasing the button too soon can put the motors out of sync.

Can’t reach the over-cab bed? Find the ladder behind the dinette and rest it on the stiffened section at the front of the mattress.

Rear mattress still folded over? It stays folded for travel. Flip it flat once the slide-out is fully extended.
