Camping in Yellowstone
& Grand Teton
Staying at campsites inside Yellowstone and Grand Teton puts you past the entrance gates before the morning line forms short drives from spots where wildlife are active in the mornings and evenings. You'll reach popular stops before the lots fill, and you won't spend the best hours of the day driving in from a gateway town.
Yellowstone has ten campgrounds that take RVs, with maximum lengths from 25 feet at Lewis Lake to 95 at Fishing Bridge, the park's only full-hookup option.
Grand Teton has six RV-friendly campgrounds, topping out at 45 feet, with full hookups at Colter Bay RV Park and Headwaters at Flagg Ranch.
Reserve Campgrounds Early
Reserve two or three campgrounds for several nights to see all the sites on your list, without spending precious vacation time packing and unpacking each day.
National park campgrounds book months in advance, so make your reservations early. If you don’t get the site you’d like, set up cancellation alerts on Recreation.gov to get notified when one opens up.
New in 2027, all campground reservations will open 6 months in advance. Five campgrounds had previously opened 13 months ahead of time, but all in-park campgrounds will now open 6 months out.
Also new: you’ll be able to reserve individual sites at your favorite campground.
Staying at Private Campgrounds or RV Parks
Private campgrounds just outside the entrances offer more services than park campgrounds, with full hookups, restaurants, shops, gas, and internet nearby. They're also the fallback if you can't get an NPS site. You'll drive a little more each day, but the trip still works. Every main entrance to both parks has good private options.
See our guide to RV camping near Yellowstone for specific campgrounds at each entrance.

Fishing Bridge is hard-sided only due to being in active grizzly habitat, which rules out the Solis PX and EKKO pop-tops. Renters in a Solis or EKKO have been turned away at the entrance and had to change their reservation on arrival. Bridge Bay is the closest soft-sided spot.
Dump stations are at Fishing Bridge, Bridge Bay, Canyon, Grant Village, and Madison, and they're free to any Yellowstone visitor whether or not you have a campground reservation. Early and late in the season they may be closed because of freezing temperatures.

Ready to Select Your RV?
Your rig decides which campsites you can book. The Solis PX and EKKO reach the tightest campgrounds, including Lewis Lake where nothing else in our fleet fits, and the larger models trade a few sites for more room inside.
