Winnebago EKKO Interior: Quick Overview + Video

This guide walks you through the Winnebago EKKO interior so you know exactly where to find the controls you’ll use the most.

Watch the short video, then scan the sections below for simple, first-timer steps you can follow on your first night out.

Winnebago EKKO interior systems covered here:

  • Power: where to check battery status and common switches

  • Climate: how to set cabin temperature

  • Water: reading fresh and gray levels, pump basics

  • Kitchen and sleeping: everyday setup for cooking and turning in

EKKO Power Controls

The interior panel is your command center, here’s what to check first.

Start with the interior control panels. You’ll see battery status, plus the switches you’ll use most often: main lights, water pump, and water heater.

Before you hit the road, confirm the coach has power (battery on and healthy, or plugged into shore power). Inside the cabin, use the panel to toggle lights and the pump only when you need them, then switch the pump off when you’re done using water.

If something isn’t turning on, work through quick checks in the Troubleshooting section below before you worry.

The goal is to make your first night in the EKKO simple: power confirmed, pump off when you’re not using it, and lights set how you like them.

Climate Controls: Thermostat and Comfort Settings

One thermostat controls everything. Here‘s how to set it and forget it.

The EKKO’s cabin thermostat makes temperature straightforward. Set your preferred temperature, allow a minute for the system to respond, and make small adjustments rather than large swings.

Use roof vents or a fan for quick airflow when you’re cooking or coming in from a hot hike. Set a slightly cooler temperature before bed so the cabin stays comfortable overnight without frequent adjustments.

If the system doesn’t respond at first, confirm the coach has power and that no safety switches were turned off during travel.

Water Gauges and Tank Levels: What to Check Daily

Plan on one quick water check in the morning and another in the evening.

Look at the fresh-water and gray-tank gauges on the interior panel; top up fresh water when it’s low and plan a dump stop when gray is getting full.

Turn the water pump on for sinks or showering and off when you’re finished so it isn’t pressurizing lines while you drive or sleep.

The EKKO uses a cassette toilet system covered in the bathroom video; handle the cassette separately and don't wait for a "last minute" empty.

These small habits keep your trip stress-free and help you avoid surprise refills or dumps at the wrong time.

Kitchen/Galley: Stove, Fridge, Pantry

Think in terms of a simple routine: ventilate, cook, clean, stow.

Turn on a vent or crack a window before you heat anything on the cooktop. Keep heavier cookware in lower cabinets and day-use items where you can reach them quickly.

The refrigerator is designed to stay powered during normal travel and camp use; pre-chill it before loading groceries, keep the door closed as much as possible, and check your coach power if you’ve been parked awhile.

After meals, wipe down the cooktop and counters and click latches closed so drawers stay put on the road. A tidy galley means less rattling and faster setup at your next campsite.

Sleeping Setup and Interior Storage

Set up beds before you’re tired.

If your EKKO is equipped with the pop-top, open and close it exactly as shown in the video to protect the latches and fabric, and keep bedding arranged so the roof seals cleanly.

Use overhead storage for light, soft items and place heavier gear low in cabinets or the rear storage so weight stays balanced. Keep the main aisle clear so everyone can move around at night without stepping over bags.

A small packing cube for each person helps keep daily clothing out of the way, and a single "catch-all" bin for keys, headlamps, and wallets near the door prevents last-minute scrambles.

Troubleshooting: Quick Checks Before Calling Support

Run through these basics before you worry.

Confirm coach power on the interior panel, make sure the pump or appliance switch is on, and give the system a minute to respond. If a light or outlet is still off, check for a tripped breaker or a switch you may have toggled earlier.

If that doesn’t solve it, call the Blacksford manager’s phone number you received at check-in (they’re available 24/7). Let them know which checks you’ve already tried so they can get you back on track fast.
