Best RV Parks in Moab for RV Renters

Planning an RV trip to Arches, Canyonlands, or Dead Horse Point? Here’s how to find the right campsite for a comfortable stay.

Moab’s RV parks fit almost every trip style and budget, from luxury resorts with pools and pickleball courts to $15/night public campgrounds along the Colorado River.

This small Utah town is the gateway to Arches National Park, Canyonlands National Park, and Dead Horse Point State Park, and it’s one of the most RV-friendly destinations in the Southwest.

When to Visit Moab

The best times to visit Moab are spring (March–May) and fall (September–October) when temperatures are perfect for hiking and exploring. But prepare for larger crowds and book your RV site at least 2 to 3 months ahead.

Summer has triple-digit heat and families on vacation, so we suggest coming another time.

Winter (late November–February) is the true off-season when prices drop significantly and crowds disappear, though some campgrounds close and you’ll want to be prepared for cold nights.

Choosing the Right RV Park for Your Trip

What’s most important for your Moab visit? Having views? Access to town? Proximity to trailheads? Here are a few factors to consider:

Your RV’s Length

Most Moab RV parks can fit vehicles of any size, but public campgrounds limit RVs to about 28 feet. Confirm your RV’s length before booking.

Hookups vs. Dry Camping

RV parks typically have full hookups (water, electric, sewer), which means unlimited air conditioning, longer showers, and no generator noise.

Public campgrounds in national parks and on BLM land don’t have hookups, so you’ll use your RV’s battery, water tank, and generator. If you plan to dry camp, look for an RV with a strong battery system and solar panels.

Amenities for Your Kids and Yourself

Traveling with kids? A pool, playground, or game area can make a big difference on your trip. Traveling as a couple or solo? You might like a quieter BLM site along the river where you’re not surrounded by other campers.

Location and Access

Some RV parks are within walking distance to downtown Moab’s restaurants, breweries, and gear shops. Others are 30+ miles from town, deep in the national parks.

Think about whether you want to drive every time you need dinner or supplies, or whether you’d rather be close to town and drive to the trails.

If you want to beat the crowds at Arches or catch sunrise at Mesa Arch, staying closer to the park entrance saves you drive time at 5 AM.

Price

Nightly rates range from $15 at basic public campgrounds to $100+ at full-service resorts. A week in Moab can cost $105 at a BLM site or $700+ at a luxury resort.
